Glazing for Inotherm Entrance Doors

The right glazing determines energy efficiency, security, sound insulation, and design. Choose from high-performance thermal packages, safety and sound insulation glass, as well as various ornamental and solar protection options – matched to your door design.

Thermal Insulation Glass (Triple)

  • Excellent insulation, energy-efficient entrance
  • Ug value depending on package (e.g., 0.5–0.7 W/(m²K))
  • Warm edge (thermal spacer) to minimize edge zone condensation
  • Learn more about U-values and insulation

Safety Glass

  • ESG (toughened safety glass) – high impact resistance
  • VSG (laminated safety glass) – tear-resistant film, splinter binding, burglar resistance
  • Option: burglar-resistant classes (e.g., P4A) matching RC2/RC3

Sound Insulation Glass

  • Noticeable reduction of external noise
  • Rw depending on glass construction (e.g., 36–44 dB) – ideal on busy roads
  • Together with seals, excellent comfort

Solar Protection & Privacy

  • Solar control coatings to reduce heat gain
  • Frosted/ornamental glass (Chinchilla, Master-Carré, etc.)
  • Mirror/reflective finishes (privacy-dependent)

Design & Light Cutouts

  • Narrow to large-area cutouts, harmonious with door panel design
  • Side panels & transoms for more daylight
  • Optional LED accents in handle recesses/side panels

Side Panels & Transoms

Side panels and transoms bring daylight into the entrance area and emphasize the facade architecture. Depending on security requirements, VSG/safety glass and stable profile constructions are combined – matching RC2/RC3.

Glazing FAQ

Which glazing makes sense for security requirements?

For enhanced security, VSG is recommended and – depending on risk – burglar-resistant glass (e.g., P4A) in combination with RC2/RC3 door construction.

What to consider for thermal insulation?

A low Ug value (e.g., 0.5–0.7), triple construction, and warm edge spacers improve insulation and reduce edge zone condensation.

Can sound insulation be combined with security?

Yes. Multi-layer glass can be configured to meet both sound insulation and security requirements.

How is privacy maintained without losing light?

Frosted or structured ornamental glass diffuses light and protects against views. Partial surface designs are also possible.
